History

Arts Assist is the registered business name of the Wyndham Community Cultural Foundation (WCCF).

WCCF is a registered charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) and is endorsed as a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR Item 1).

WCCF was established by a Deed of Trust in 1999 under the auspices of the Committee of Werribee Inc. In 1999, it was instrumental in spearheading a community fundraising campaign that resulted in a significant donation towards the construction and fit out of the Wyndham Cultural Centre. This donation ensured the Centre had both a 500-seat performing arts theatre and a visual arts space.

In 2000, it established the WCCF Trust Fund for the ongoing support of artistic and cultural activities for the community of Wyndham.

In 2018, WCCF registered a new business name – Arts Assist – to better reflect its core mission and to increase the recognition of its activities within the rapidly growing and diverse Wyndham community.
