One week left to get your applications in for StopMotion - a new micro-commission program to encourage local artists to field test your work in a street art context!

If you're interested in translating your visual arts practice into the public realm, StopMotion is a great opportunity to do so with mentorship and support. We're seeking 14 artists from Maribyrnong and neighbouring municipalities in the West to transform local traffic signal boxes with new original works.

Selected artists will receive a $500 micro-commission fee, mentoring and materials, as well as attending a one-day workshop on working in public space and developing site-specific designs.

Applications close 11:59pm, Wednesday 25 November, more info linked in our bio ✨

[Image description: A traffic signal box on the corner of a suburban street, where a few cars can be seen in the background. The artwork on the traffic signal box depicts giant ibises taking over the city - one is flying against a pink sky, carrying a bus in its talons, one is ripping the clock tower from the top of the Sydney General Post Office against the purple silhouette of the city skyline, and another is standing on a flat blue expanse where small human figures run from the birds. On the side of the traffic signal box, we can also see one giant ibis swooping through the sky and yet another taking a ride in a boat.]
