Check it out next time you're in Newport, Melbourne!

Reposted from @hobsonsbaycc

You may not be able to visit your favourite public artwork – so we’re bringing it to you! Today visiting you on your device is ‘Diver’ by Simon Perry and Drew Cole. Made of bluestone, this light-hearted work features the behind of a duck, creating the illusion that the duck is dipping its head below the surface of the paved walkway. This sculpture acts as a marker for the entrance of the parkland of Newport Lakes and the material references the site’s origin - a bluestone quarry.
Simon Perry has quite a few, very recognisable works across Melbourne including the coin purse in the Bourke Street Mall and the large green sculptural work outside Marvel Stadium – ‘Threaded Field’.
